Reforestation

CVR’s existing Zinfandel grape vineyard will be slowly and sustainably transitioned to native plants and trees, returning the land to its natural ecology. The 28-acre reforested property will be conserved as publicly-accessible open space where walkers and joggers can access X miles of trails. The views from CVR’s high point will provide artists, photographers, and sunrise enthusiasts with a place to enjoy scenic views of the Crystal Range.

Education

A community center, designed for visitors of all ages, will highlight the ecological features that are unique to this beautiful region of the Sierra Foothills. CVR will partner with regional schools, nonprofits, and other institutions to provide hands-on opportunities for children and university students to nurture and study native trees and plants.

Connection

In addition to supporting CVR’s educational mission, the community center and nearby amphitheater will provide gathering spaces for local residents and passing visitors to connect with one another. These venues will also be available for use by other organizations that serve our community.

Resilience

All systems and structures will be carefully designed according to modern fire-safe principles, with the aim of making CVR available as an emergency evacuation center for the community.
